U-M Medical School’s curriculum revision gets boost from $1.1M award

The University of Michigan Medical School has won a $1.1 million grant from the American Medical Association to accelerate its major curriculum revision, officials announced Friday. U-M is one of 11 schools across the country to win the grant from the AMA in a competitive application process. The five-year grant is intended to promote change in medical education. McDaniel to particpate in Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program

Rachel McDaniel has been chosen as one of only 25 students to participate in the 2013 Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program, an innovative education program sponsored by the American Fisheries Society (AFS). McDaniel, a San Marcos home school student who has just completed her junior year, is working with her mentor, Gordon Linam, at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) River Studies Program and will be awarded a scholarship from AFS. West Michigan cardiology group to relocate to Holland Hospital

The West Michigan Heart cardiology group will relocate from its current location on South Washington Avenue in Holland to Holland Hospital’s main campus. The construction of the single story structure at Holland Hospital is expected to begin April 29 and be completed in May 2014.
